You wouldn’t guess, but next to Antwerp Central Station you’ll find an exotic world full of plants and animals. The art nouveau entrance gates lead to one of the oldest zoos in the world. Historical 19th century buildings accommodate rhinos, birds and okapis. Residents at the back of the zoo can see the long necks of the giraffes poking out or sometimes hear an elephant hoot.
